Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration

The Rutgers University School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) is a public policy and public administration school, and one of Rutgers University's professional schools. It offers bachelor's degrees in public service, master's degrees in public administration and public health, grants doctoral degrees, administers executive programs for senior government officials, and conducts research in subjects relating to politics, government, international affairs, and economics.
According to ''U.S. News & World Report'', SPAA is one of the top seven programs in the United States in public management and administration. SPAA's campus is located in the University Heights neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey, United States. Since 2004, the school's dean has been Marc Holzer, who is also the Board of Governors Professor at SPAA.
The school’s faculty generates knowledge and best practices in public service and administration, and collaborates with public and nonprofit sector organizations and professionals throughout the U.S. and the world. Guided by the principles of knowledge, competence, diversity and service – with an emphasis on public service values and competencies for effective performance – SPAA promotes accountability, transparency, and performance in the public and nonprofit sectors.
==History==
The School of Public Affairs and Administration was founded in 2006 after providing doctoral and master’s public administration education for over 30 years to pre-service, in-service, and executive students through the Rutgers–Newark Graduate School.
